Behind each of these numbers is a community that came together to make a difference across Türkiye. In the BTF UK Impact Report, we take a closer look at the events and campaigns that made it possible.
Turkish Bazaar Sale
On October 12, 2025, BTF UK volunteers hosted a vibrant Turkish Bazaar in Cambridge, bringing the warmth and colour of Turkish culture to the heart of the city. Visitors enjoyed handmade crafts, soaps, jewellery, and accessories, spending a joyful afternoon shopping and discovering culture with friends and family. Thanks to the community’s generous support, we were able to make a real difference in the lives of many children.
At Kiledere Elementary School in Niğde, 37 children received warm winter boots and coats, 26 students were given school bags and stationery, and 60 students were equipped with sports gear and art supplies. Meanwhile, at Binekli Elementary School in Şanlıurfa, 12 students received boots and coats, and 3 students received school bags and stationery. Together, these contributions brought comfort, opportunity, and joy to young lives, demonstrating the powerful impact of grassroots giving.
“First of all, we would like to thank the BTF family. Thanks to your support, our children will come to school warm and cozy on these winter days. Their hearts have been warmed, and their happiness was evident in their eyes. We are just as joyful as they are. We extend our endless gratitude to all of you who have provided support. The boots and coats have left beautiful memories in their hearts, and our children send you their warmest regards.”
Gülsin Onay Piano Recital
On November 16, 2025, renowned pianist, Turkish State Artist, and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Gülsin Onay performed a breathtaking recital at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, bringing music lovers together for an unforgettable afternoon. All proceeds from the event were donated to Çağdaş Yaşamı Destekleme Derneği (Contemporary Life Support Association), directly funding educational support for 12 female students in need.
One of the organizers and volunteers from the UK circle reflected: “Today was never just about music. It was about creating opportunity. All proceeds from this recital will support scholarships for girls and young women in Türkiye through ÇYDD and BTF, helping ensure that skills meet opportunity. Because without opportunity, even the greatest potential can remain unseen. Today, together, we were able to raise funds to support 12 young women in their academic journeys for one full year. Thank you!”

Cinema4aCause: Just Like Before in London
On April 17, 2026, BTF UK volunteers hosted a special screening of “Eskisi Gibi” (“Just Like Before”) in London, continuing the journey of community and solidarity first shared at the Cambridge event in 2025. Just as in Cambridge, the London screening delivered a meaningful impact. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, a one‑year scholarship for two amputee children was fully funded. This outcome underscores how collective compassion across different communities can transform lives and light the path to a brighter future. The event was further honored by the presence of Ambassador Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ulusoy, First Class Consul General of Türkiye in London, whose participation highlighted the importance of cultural and humanitarian solidarity.
